GIG Ltd and Scale42 are "in advanced discussions for the creation of a joint venture focused on the development of integrated digital and energy infrastructure including sub-sea data cables and data centres."
Scale42, established by the founders of Hydrokraft (now Nscale), brings data centre expertise and a development pipeline surpassing one gigawatt throughout the Nordic region, including a recently unveiled 100 MW flagship Finnish project.
GIG specialises in energy transmission infrastructure, notably the Atlantic Super Connection linking Iceland and the UK.
The companies state this collaboration represents "a major step toward delivering our shared vision of being a leader in integrated digital and energy infrastructure to support the growing demands for high-capacity, sustainable and connected AI infrastructure."
